​Recently Andrej Mahecic, a UNCHR spokesperson, provided an update on the Rohingya refugees from Myanmar. Mahecic explains the benefits of registration and identity cards; with the gathering of further information, humanitarian organizations and the Bangladeshi government are better able to provide exact services needed.

​Professor rethinks living spaces for refugee camps

Rana Abudayyeh, a Robin Klehr Avia Professor of Interior Design in UT's College of Architecture and Design, studies the way refugees interact with their surroundings in refugee camps.  Her research has allowed her to apply her architectural skills to create new designs for the temporary shelters used in refugee camps.
